Gratefulness

Just saying the words "thank you" can measurably improve your mood. Researchers can actually measure happiness and changes in brain structure when people practiced regular "grateful thinking." This included things like writing thank you notes, writing gratitude journal entries, mindfully counting their blessings, and thanking friends.

A creative way to express and share your gratitude is to text 3 gratitudes to close friends and family on a frequent basis.

Explain the game, and invite them to participate.

I have thoroughy enjoyed sending and receiving these gratefulness texts!! Instead of looking for "likes" you look for hearing the creativity of those that are close.

Following are some that I have received that I found inspiring:

getting loved ones what they really want for Christmas

generosity

nuthatches

breathing intentionally for healing

contemplation before speaking

the smell of coffee

spontaneiety

times of solitude

morning routine

noticing winter's shadows

Adding pictures to your texts enhances the richness of the loving message!

Would love to hear your gratefulnesses posted right here on the Horizons' life coaching site.
